Meet the Team

 

Bob Driver, CEO
Bob Driver joined CW as the CEO in May 2015. He is responsible for leading the development of the organisation, broadening its reach with other sectors and clusters, while retaining the unique culture and dynamism of the CW community. Bob is accountable to the CW Board. Previously Bob was Director for Technology at UK Trade & Investment [UKTI] where he successfully led teams helping UK tech companies to access overseas opportunities, and attracting tech inward investment into the UK. He also coordinated the UKTI science and innovation agenda and was responsible for the delivery of UKTI events from small missions to large trade fairs. Bob first joined UKTI in 2001 as International Trade Director for the East of England Region, based in Cambridge and in 2006 became the national UKTI Director for High Technology Sectors based in London. Prior to joining UKTI, he worked in the scientific instrumentation sector.

Something you don’t know about Bob:
Bob lives in Cambridge, is married with grown up children, and was a graduate of the University (many years ago!). He also worked for a record shop chain in the mid-1980s when vinyl still ruled.

 

Abhi Naha, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)
Abhi has worked in the mobile and telecoms industry for 20 years. He is responsible for marketing, business development, attracting young entrepreneurs and engaging with SIG champions.. Abhi has been a CW Founder Member and SIG champion for over nine years. Founder of several technology start ups and new business units in Cambridge and Silicon Valley he aims to bring an entrepreneurial culture to CW.

Abhi enjoys fire walking, applying technology for good in emerging countries and is a strong advocate for digital inclusion.

 

Lisa Adcock, Senior Conference Manager (currently on maternity leave)
Lisa has worked in events for over 10 years. She joined CW in October 2013 and is responsible for organising the annual Future of Wireless International Conference and CW TEC as well as working on various SIG events.

Lisa is an England Netball 'A' award umpire and travels all over the country officiating at matches.

 

Laura Farthing, Senior Systems & Events Manager
Laura joined CW in 2013 as an Events Intern. Now as Senior Systems & Events Manager, she manages SIG events and is responsible for CW's internal systems and procedures. Laura graduated from Cambridge School of Art with a photography degree in 2010.

Something you don't know about Laura:
Laura is a big fan of roller derby and skates with the Cambridge Rollerbillies.

 

Lucy Woods, Marketing & Events Manager
Lucy joins the CW team with a passion for all things digital and has account management background having worked at various Suffolk-based creative agencies. Lucy manages social media and marketing as well as supporting and delivering events.

Something you don’t know about Lucy:
A keen runner, Lucy tries to pencil a competitive run in the diary every now and then (not too often of course…)

 

Harriet Carey, Senior Conference & Events Manager
Harriet joined CW in May 2016 as maternity cover for Lisa and to manage CW’s flagship event, the Future of Wireless International Conference and the CW TEC Conference.

Something you don’t know about Harriet:
She’s a real team player and enjoys outdoor activities!

 

Patricia Chan, Business Operations & Events Executive
As the latest team member, Patricia joins CW with over 20 years sales and client management experience in the Tourism Industry. She is responsible for office management and administration, as well as supporting the events and marketing teams.

Something you don’t know about Patricia:
Patricia originates from Singapore. Travel is her passion and she grabs every opportunity possible to experience far flung destinations, authentic food and diverse cultures.

 

John Davies, Senior Advisor, International Partnerships
John has carried out a unique mix of strategic and operational roles with placements in the USA and Europe and partnerships in Asia.  Over recent years much of his private sector and Government activities has been in the area of mobile and wireless communications, digital media, Smart Cities, Cloud and Big Data and M2M/IoT as well as emerging and disruptive technologies. Helping technology start ups in the UK and internationally sourcing technology and partners as well as provide due diligence in areas of M&A and stock listings.
Operating as a UK Government Advisor John has briefed both UK and International Government Ministers and Departments on Smart Cities and respective technologies and applications. This has included providing international workshops, mentoring and consulting at senior levels.
John has designed and ran awareness and implementation workshops for international companies and led international delegations to overseas markets, the most recent to Singapore and Malaysia in partnership with InnovateUK. John is an active member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Smart Cities.
John will be engaging with potential new international companies and organisations, and supporting CW member companies.

Something you don’t know about John:
When not travelling the world, John is a keen sailor!

 

Teresa Fagg, Administrator
Teresa has worked for CW since 2007 as an Administrator. Teresa’s primary role is to support membership and everything connected with the database and back office. Prior to working for CW Teresa’s background is the leisure and hospitality industry. Teresa works on a part-time basis from home to fit in with caring for her disabled husband Johnny.

Something you don’t know about Teresa:
Teresa was the first female landlady for Greene King in the 1980s.

PEM’s Virtual Finance Office deal with all of CW's’ financial needs.
