Cambridge Electric Transport Company

CETC will develop a uniquely efficient, safe and low-cost urban transport system in Cambridge over the coming eight years. While cities across the world become ever more gridlocked, CETC is embarking on a visionary path that will transform the way people move in urban areas. Cambridge, with its tradition of high cycle use and tolerance of mixed traffic in the urban area, is the perfect pilot city to implement CETC’s vision. CETC envisages 10 phases of roll-out, progressing from simply increasing the prevalence of electric cycles, through to fully autonomous vehicles to take people and goods rapidly door-to-door.

My broad experience in senior technical and commercial roles allows me to take a flexible approach in a range of activities including product planning, business development, marketing and technical management. I work at the conjunction of market, product and technology, defining and delivering product direction and business strategy. Whether you’re a startup with a hard-pressed management team, or an innovation team in a larger organisation, my perspective can help to realise the vision.


Lawrence Archard, DevelAngel

DevelAngel manages electronic product development for angel and VC-funded ventures. For mainstream R&D-for-hire, there is sister entity uPBeat Product Development. Lawrence's experience is in high-volume, cost-sensitive products across a range of industries - music, toys, construction, medical, office and kitchen appliances - and was an early proponent of IoT, but not for the fridge ordering milk. He acts as interim CTO for startups and recently helped the BBC and a consortium of partners produce the micro:bit.


Emsol

Emsol will be creating an IOT based “emissions as a service” where as a centralised platform will take volumes of emissions based transactions and process these for many clients in many ways. The focus of our innovation is in developing the IT platform and data science for this “as a service” approach and the business models to fund it, and then on linking this to currently disparate sensors in an IOT approach.

Energenie aim to provide solutions for all electrical needs. Here at Energenie, we have a wide range of products such as; Eco and electrical solutions, aiming to help our customers save money around the house; Energenie range that is compatible with Raspberry Pi; travel and lighting kits. Energenie have also recently launched the MiHome range, which aims to turn ordinary homes seamlessly into smart homes. The range includes a set of home automation products that are built around the MiHome Gateway, which is our central hub for the range. The MiHome range also includes integrations from huge companies such as Amazon and Google to provide our customers with the complete smart home solution at a very affordable price.

Future Care (UK) Ltd is an innovative and disruptive SME providing a health and wellness monitoring device linked to a medical and social care triage, an end-to- end ecosystem. Based on machine learning, algorithms and AI, this device generates preventive and reactive reports and alerts our Centre, helping to keep frail members of society safe in their homes for longer. The technology also connects to the IoT, empowering people to remain autonomous. It offers huge savings and efficiencies and can revolutionise the way medical and social care are managed and delivered.

INMERSUS, developed and distributed by Movie & Arts, is a digital signage solution that provides an innovative way of delivering multimedia content. It supports businesses to deliver the right message to right audience at the right time with immersive and bespoke user and visitor experiences. Ogenblik Ltd is a UK based start-up developing an ecosystem of Internet of Things tools and smartphone applications to promote wellbeing. OliTool™, our first product in development, offers a new approach to mental health and wellbeing that harnesses haptic technology to support individuals and their behaviour change objectives.


Rajesh Bhardwaj, 99Aha

Rajesh Bhardwaj is an independent Creativity & Wellbeing Strategist based at the Urban Innovation Centre in Islington, London. This year he has worked extensively with the Air quality and Sustainable Transport teams across the London boroughs of Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets to define their digital strategy and develop their inaugural website. His current interest is producing Prototypes and facilitating Pilot projects (urban demonstrator programmes) responding.

Sparky Automotive, London based supplier of fuel extender units for Electric Vehicles, has announced development of a cost-effective new electricity generator for use in its line of devices for second generation EV cars coming on stream later this year.
