This is a joint event between Digital Communications Knowledge Transfer Network and the Testing SIG championed by Dr Allan MacLean of Amdeo, Steven Edwards of Rohde-Schwarz, Bill Burrows of Aeroflex and Mike Salmon of IOTAS. We are also very grateful to National Physical Laboratory for hosting this event and to DCKTN for making this event possible.
The aim of this event is to discuss examples of where technology convergence is causing testing headaches. GSM, WCDMA (HSPA), LTE, DVB-H, FM, Bluetooth, UWB, GPS and WiFi all have their individual challenges. However such challenges tend to multiply exponentially as different standards and radios are required to co-exist in modern mobile devices.
Our host for the event is one of the world’s leading centres for test and measurement expertise - The National Physical Laboratory (NPL). NPL was established in 1900 and is a world-leading centre of excellence in developing and applying the most accurate measurement standards, science and technology.
The event will be held at NPL‘s state-of-the-art facility in Teddington, Middlesex. The day will start at 11.00 am with an exclusive guided tour of the facilities and networking over an extended lunch. Please click here to view tour details. In the afternoon attendees will hear from speakers from NPL‘s wireless communications research group and industries who face the challenge in designing devices and components where multiple standards and radios are required to co-exist.
