About the event

About the event:

Welcome to this one day conference on “Building Success in the US” answering the key questions companies regularly ask us when looking to develop new business and expand operations in the US.

Market Facts:

With each state of the US having a GDP equivalent to some major European economies, any approach to ensuring successful business in the US needs to be carefully targeted. The US is the East of England’s biggest export market worth £3.5bn annually and this growing export market provides a wealth of business opportunities for UK companies. Now is a good time to explore the US market.

Nature of the day:

The aim of this conference is to explore, with input from a variety experienced exporters, the challenges in expanding into the US. We will hear from experts on a range of topics including developing your strategy for the US, how to set up in the US and how to get products approved for the US There also will be a range of breakout sessions to look at sectors or topics with a US lens in more detail. The conference will be a combination of parallel streams and plenary sessions. All the sessions will be led by thought-provoking keynote speakers including former Lego® Director of Global Branding and Business Development, Christian Majgaard, to give you the inside track to success.

There will also be the chance to share your own experiences, challenges and successes and hear from others at the conference through the State Cafe. Various stands to explore specific export services and professional advice will be available throughout the day. Our aspiration is for you to feel spoilt for choice. We will be actively encouraging you to use your own smart phones and tablets to share the learning from all the sessions across the conference using social media.
