  • Learn how to protect your Intellectual Property and benefit from Dr James Pitchford’s expertise on a confidential one-to-one basis, in a series of 20-minute clinic sessions, free of charge.

About the speakers

Adelina Chalmers

Award winning professional speaker, Adelina Chalmers, is an expert at transforming abstract information into engaging, memorable and successful pitches. She coaches technology company founders who want to gain investment, generate leads or win more contracts and her clients have secured millions of pounds investment from national and international investors. She has also won numerous speech competitions applying the recipes for speeches she created, including the East of England Impromptu Speech Competition in 2012. She holds a Diploma in Public Services Interpreting (DPSI) in English Law and speaks 5 languages fluently: English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian.

Dr James Pitchford

James obtained an MA honours degree in Natural Sciences (Physics and Materials Science) and a PhD in Materials Science, both from the University of Cambridge. He entered the patent profession in 2000, and qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2005 and a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2006. James joined Mathys & Squire in 2012, and specialises in patent work in the physics, electronics, engineering and materials science sectors. He also has a keen professional interest in computing and communications technology. James has drafted, filed and prosecuted a diverse range of patent applications, in the UK, Europe and internationally, including an appreciable number relating to computer software. He is also experienced in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office. As well as patents, James’s practice includes UK and European Community registered design applications.
