The Smart Cambridge programme brings together local businesses, researchers, councils and partners to explore how data, innovative technology and better connectivity can help to transform the way people use the city’s transport network, reduce congestion and deliver services. The programme is part of the Greater Cambridge City Deal which includes Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council as well as the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership and Cambridge University. With the technical flexibility to address multiple IoT applications, both static and mobile, and a certification program to guarantee interoperability, the LoRaWAN™ is already being deployed globally by major mobile network operators and is anticipated to widely expand in 2017.
