Senior RFIC Design Engineer

A newly created position based in Cork supporting our team working on exciting new projects.

You will be responsible for designing and developing the next generation of highly integrated RF circuits (RFICs) using Cadence tools in deep sub-micron, CMOS processes and will handle complex engineering assignments in collaboration with  local and remote RF, Digital, Systems and Test engineering teams.,

Tasks:

  • Specify and design RF and analogue circuit blocks such as LNAs and Mixers, TX Modulators and driver amplifiers, Frequency Synthesizers (PLLs) and power amplifiers
  • Design test plans for these circuits for lab, wafer and production test
  • Complete radio and RF block characterisation in the lab
  • Be responsible for design and specification of sub block to meet system requirements and for measured results meeting reported simulation results
  • Responsible for meeting quality standards in design flow
  • Technical reporting, mentoring of junior engineers

Candidate Requirements:

  • Substantial RF/analogue silicon IC design experience for wireless applications
  • Expertise in the latest RF/analogue CAD flows for CMOS technologies
  • In-depth understanding of RFIC circuit design techniques, simulator options and capabilities and IC layout design techniques and verification methodologies
  • Experience with front-end RF and analogue circuit blocks such as LNAs and Mixers, TX modulators and driver amplifiers, Frequency Synthesizers (PLLs) and power amplifiers
  • Experience in design for reuse and statisticial design techniques
  • Experience of carrying out complete radio and RF block characterisation in the lab
  • Automated test experience an advantage
  • Degree qualified in Electrical/Electronics or Communications Engineering, Applied Physics
