Senior Hardware Design Engineer

Summary

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Design Engineer with a fundamental understanding of electronics hardware (circuit design, manufacture, test and measurement) to join our growing world class team.

About the role:
Blu Wireless Technology develops cutting-edge wireless Gbps technology, based on the 802.11ad mmWave standard. With the initial core technology developed and demonstrated, we are now moving forward to take this through into production with our growing customer base. We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the development of our reference design platforms. The Senior Hardware Design Engineer needs to drive the entire development process. This will include requirements capture, schematic capture, PCB production, enclosure design, system manufacture, and system test. The ability to interact with external suppliers and manufacturing partners will be a key part of the role.

What will I be accountable for?

  • Schematic design of reference platforms containing Blu Wireless’ technology.
  • Production of reference platforms.
  • Liaison with PCB manufactures, assembly houses, enclosure manufacture and internal/ external customers.
  • Bring-up and testing of reference design platforms.
  • Analysis of failures and root causes.
  • Use of standard test equipment, as required.
  • Review of customer schematics and designs.
  • Familiarity with design rules and good practise.
  • Involvement with bring-up of first silicon.
  • Working with hardware and software design teams to ensure correct operation of the system.
  • Sourcing and maintaining lab test equipment, including equipment rental and calibration.
