Strategic Account Manager, Google Maps

The Google Cloud Platform team helps customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Google’s global network, web-scale data centers and software infrastructure. As part of an entrepreneurial team in this rapidly growing business, you will help shape the future of businesses of all sizes use technology to connect with customers, employees and partners.

The Google Maps, Google Cloud Account Management team is responsible for the management of our existing customer base, working closely with regional sales leadership and teams in achieving joint objectives.

As a Google Maps Strategic Account Manager, you are focused on keeping and growing our strategic customers, by empowering them to achieve success using Google Maps.

You provide business critical insights using analytics, ensure alignment of goals and execution within the team, and help them drive new initiatives forward. You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the business needs of Google's key clients and understand how our range of product offerings can grow their business.

You have excellent analytical and relationship-building skills, along with the entrepreneurial drive to approach and persuade customers with large, multi-faceted solution propositions. You demonstrate strong project management capabilities, and are excited to actively coordinate across multiple stakeholders to get things done. You are the operational advocate of our client management and lead day-to-day relationships with client stakeholders.

You are a creative and experienced Account Manager with a true passion for sales. You will provide excellent renewal sales management and retention in Google's Maps team, strategizing with sales partners and vendors on how to increase account value. You will equip the customers and teams with content and tools necessary to provide exceptional customer service. You will work directly with customers, coordinate internal resources, and construct successful strategies. You are a confident and polished leader also capable of going into details to solve issues affecting account retention. Most of all, you have a commitment to providing Google Maps customers with the best possible experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop strong relationships with our clients, including educating them on Digital and Google’s products.
  • Provide excellent customer service. Proactively and creatively understand and solve client problems, constantly striving for great success.
  • Analyze data trends and client performance, identify opportunities and create implementation plans how to maximize results.
  • Support the regional leads, partner and vendor community with training, materials and ongoing support.
  • Engage and coordinate internal groups as needed to resolve customer issues and maximize customer retention.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Sales experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proven track record in sales with consistent performance above quota.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and deliver in a cross-functional/matrixed environment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively and balance multiple, disparate work streams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, possessing ability to maintain control of communication length and direction and articulate under pressure.
