06/12/16  Recruitment event helps candidates learn the importance of company culture

Around 100 jobseekers attended Cambridge Network's inaugural Recruitment Candidate Evening last week, at an event focused on company culture, sponsored by digital innovators Arcus Global.

Arcus Global's CEO and Co-Founder Denis Kaminskiy addressed the audience on the importance of culture in the growth of Arcus in his presentation, From Start Up to Scale Up.  He talked about how the culture of an organisation is its personality and its inner voice - right at the heart of the business - and explained that the Arcus personality is tenacious, curious, ingenious and determined. "This means that our culture is one that fosters and encourages freedom, creativity and independence. Working at Arcus is exciting, challenging and rewarding.

"Having a clear and strong culture helps us to find and appoint the right people who are going to thrive and flourish at Arcus.  We are delighted to have met a couple of strong candidates who had the skills we are looking for, coupled with a strong interest in our work and importantly, in our culture."

The event gave candidates the opportunity to talk to Arcus and other potential employers, and also to hear from careers experts Katherine Wiid and Lindsey Reed from Career Ambitions. They provided job seeking advice and application tips and also talked about how candidates could best represent themselves online.

"There was a great atmosphere and a real buzz in the room because there were so many conversations going on," said Claire Angus from Cambridge Network's Recruitment Gateway, which organised the event. "We've had a lot of positive feedback and know that many people made some good contacts.

"Now we are looking at the possibilities for further themed candidate events, alongside our established and popular Jobs Fairs for employer organisations."
