AI and Navigation

Join the CW Location SIG as they explore the challenging development of autonomous vehicles in their next webinar 'AI and Navigation'.

The development of autonomous vehicles has faced huge challenges, both technological and legal. Arguably, no other area of positioning has had quite the same attention as that of unmanned vehicles over the last ten years.

The use of multiple sources of positioning data together requires a deep understanding of the expected error distributions and failures. A positioning algorithm needs to combine both absolute and relative position data with other specific features: speed, proximity to other objects, etc. But when the information comes from outside our system, how do we make the best use of it? How do we weigh up the benefits of sharing data with the risks?

Speakers include:

  • Luis Barreto - Engineering Director, Five AI
  • Ed Parsons - Geospatial Technologist, Google
