Given the rapidly evolving impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) across the globe, CGI’s utilities team has been convening daily to consider the impact of this outbreak on the CGI Utilities UGC2020 conference. Based on the latest guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Public Health Agency of Canada, as well as state, provincial and local governments, we will cancel in-person participation for UGC2020 to help safeguard the health and safety of our clients, employees, and communities.
We are exploring options to bring UGC2020 to a virtual platform during the same week of June 16-19, 2020, to connect user community members and present key sessions in a digital format. More details on scheduling and how to participate will be available in the coming weeks. Please check the CGI site to find the most up to date emails.
On behalf of CGI, we extend our deepest concern and support for our user community members affected by COVID-19. CGI remains committed to helping our utilities, communications, and energy clients keep the lights on, keep people connected, and support the delivery of critical public health and safety services. Please read the client message from CGI President and CEO George Schindler and Co-Chair of the Board and Executive Vice-President, Strategic Planning and Corporate Development, Julie Godin, about our commitment to providing you the service continuity you need in a safe and flexible manner.
We look forward to connecting with you for UGC2020 as a unique virtual experience so we can continue our collective learning. We encourage an open dialogue, so please reach out to your account manager with any questions. If you have specific questions about the virtual UGC2020, please email Heather Tracy.
Warm regards,
CGI’s Utilities Team
