International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year, the theme will focus on the part we can all play in building a gender balanced world, #BalanceforBetter.
The event will allow us to delve into issues that are central to career development of women, debate ways we can influence change, and take time to consider our own ambition, aspirations and barriers. Everyone will have the opportunity to share experiences in a supportive environment.
Our key note speaker is Christine Tacon CBE. Christine has a portfolio career combining her commercial expertise with her understanding of the food chain and the public sector. She is a Chartered Engineer with 12 years experience in sales and marketing of fast moving consumer goods (Mars, Anchor and Vodafone) and ran the Co-operative Group's farming business, the largest in the UK, for 11 years until 2012. She was awarded a CBE for services to agriculture in 2004 and recent recipient of 'Women in Agribusiness Demeter Award of Excellence'.
Other speakers are:
