Chronos supplies Telenor Denmark with Packet Sync Solution

Telnor Denmark is investing in packet-based infrastructure to help them increase traffic across their network, deliver improved services to their customers and ultimately drive down costs.  

Thomas Thorbjørnsen of Telenor Denmark explains: “We know how important synchronisation is in traditional networks; with packet technology it is even more critical. We liked the fact that the Chronos SyncWatch solution could be used not only to analyse end-to-end sync in our test set-up, but also to monitor sync performance in the live network, 24 hours a day.” He added, “That made SyncWatch a very cost effective approach for us.”

Currently Telenor Denmark are using multiple SyncWatch probes across their network, each collecting sync information and passing it back to the SyncWatch central management platform where sync quality is monitored and measured. In parallel, all SyncWatch related instances are collected centrally through SNMP traps. 

Thomas concludes, “SyncWatch is a great choice for both the evaluation and the on-going monitoring of sync in our network. We are extremely impressed with the knowledge of the Chronos team and will continue to work with them and deploy additional probes as we grow our network in 2011 and beyond.”
