Agilent Technologies Adds 1-GHz Models and DVM Capability to Award-Winning InfiniiVision X-Series Oscilloscopes
These new oscilloscopes address the growing need for higher-bandwidth bench scopes by offering 1-GHz models at prices starting at what other leading manufacturers charge for models with half the bandwidth.
Doubling the available bandwidth addresses the top customer-requested enhancement for this oscilloscope family. The 2000 and 3000 X-Series continue to draw acclaim from engineers and industry opinion-leaders for their combination of performance, value and innovative new features like WaveGen, which integrates fixed-function and arbitrary waveform stimulus with oscilloscope response measurements.
With these new models, Agilent announced a new 1-GHz active probe. The N2795A probe is designed to match the performance needs of the 3000 X-Series oscilloscopes, at a price comparable to equivalent-bandwidth passive probes – without the impedance trade-offs of a passive approach.
In addition, both the 2000 and 3000 X-Series now offer the option to add a three-digit voltmeter (DVM) and five-digit counter that operate through the same probes as the oscilloscope channels. These measurements are decoupled from the oscilloscope triggering system, allowing engineers to make DVM and triggered oscilloscope measurements with the same connection. DVM results are presented with an always-on seven-segment display, keeping these quick characterization measurements at engineers’ fingertips.
“Our customers tell us they are expected to do more with less,” said Jay Alexander, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Oscilloscope Products Division. “No wonder they’ve responded so strongly to the 3000 X-Series. The integrated four-in-one features [analog, digital, and protocol analysis, plus function generator] offer unmatched insight into their designs at an affordable price. Adding low-cost 1-GHz bandwidths and the new DVM capability extends this benefit to an even higher performance point.”
In December, Agilent’s 2000 and 3000 X-Series oscilloscopes won the 2011 EDN China Innovation Award for the best product in the test and measurement category. The 2000 and 3000 X-Series oscilloscopes also were named finalists in T&M Magazine’s “Best in Test” oscilloscopes category for 2012.
