TestPlant expands with new San Francisco office

Software quality company looks to accelerate growth in key Silicon Valley software market

San Francisco, CA & London, UK – January 27, 2014 – TestPlant, the developer of the eggPlant range of software quality tools, today announced the opening of a new sales and support office in San Francisco.

The office, located at 201 Spear Street in the heart of San Francisco’s technology hub, SoMa, provides the company with a dedicated office to support many of its key Silicon Valley and West Coast customers, including companies such as BMW, Citrix, Google, NBC Universal and Varian Medical Systems.

San Francisco is increasingly the location of choice for many of the world’s brightest technology companies, while Silicon Valley remains a major global hub for software development, with almost $2.5 billion in venture capital secured by its software industry in 2012, representing 38% of total venture capital investment in the area.*

TestPlant’s San Francisco office will be headed by TestPlant’s Chief Sales Officer, Richard Ward, who has responsibility for growing the company’s US business as well as managing the global sales team.

“The proliferation of software companies in the Bay area means that it is, of course, a very important region for TestPlant to have a presence in, and gives us access to the ever-expanding technology talent pool in San Francisco,” said Richard Ward, CSO, TestPlant. “The San Francisco office provides us with a strategic location to expand our business and support our customers both on the West Coast of the United States and in Asia, where we are also seeing rapid adoption of eggPlant.” T

estPlant is the company behind the eggPlant range, a set of software test tools that enables automated functional testing and load testing of any application from mainframe to mobile. eggPlant helps teams get software products to market faster, with higher quality, less effort, and clearer traceability. Easily deployed and sized to minimize the cost of ownership, the eggPlant tools fit the demands of agile software and mobile app development.

Through its San Francisco office, TestPlant aims to build on its rapid international growth, which has seen it achieve a compound annual growth rate of more than 70% over the past four years.

“Now is the right time for TestPlant to open an office in San Francisco,” said George Mackintosh, CEO of TestPlant. “The eggPlant range is being widely adopted and we can afford to be – and need to be – closer to our customers in this, the most exciting market in the world.”

The San Francisco office builds on TestPlant’s existing US presence, with the company’s North American headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.
