BBC Click 5G Special
5G is coming and the next generation of wireless technology will give us self-driving cars, smart cities and football skills!
Discussing 5G in the latest episode of BBC Click was Professor in Wireless Communications for King's College London and CW Board Member, Mischa Dohler.
Mischa discussed that with 5G's ultra low-latency we will be able to transmit action and reaction so fast that for the first time a network can support advanced, remote engineering/musical/medical/football applications.
This gives us the capacity to build an internet that will allow us to democratize labour skills in the same way that the internet has democratized knowledge information.
Also featured in the programme was the University of Bristol's 5G trial with Professor of High Performance Networks, Dimitra Simeonidou, (who recently spoke at the Evolution or Revolution CW 5G event on March 21), discussing how, with 5G, we will be able to connect seamlessly to the network, whether we are on a bus or travelling on the train via the underground.
CW, the KTN and the TM Forum recently announced the launch of the UK 5G Innovation Network, which was celebrated with an evening event overlooking London at BT Tower. Read all about the launch of UK5G here.
