The Industrial Internet of Things (Industrial IoT) can be defined in many ways and is already making an impact on how products are manufactured and services consumed. The introduction of automation and data exchange into manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics and service processes is enabling enterprises to make significant changes to how they define, build, deliver, and sell products, manage assets, support workers and deliver services.

The Industrial IoT SIG will address a broad range of issues such as, Industrial IoT platforms, interoperability and the integration of a numerous technology applications as well as the need for standards, regulation and new business models. With an open and collaborative approach, we will draw on experience from the manufacturing, logistics, utilities and technology worlds to demonstrate how Enterprises can exploit and scale up on the use of Industrial IoT beyond pilots or niche use cases.

SIG meetings will provide an excellent opportunity to network with key people within the ecosystem to access information on the latest trends and issues across what is a multi-sector subject.

The core objectives of the Industrial IoT SIG are:

  • To Inform and Influence: on how business value is extracted from Industrial IoT by providing analysis on the latest trends in technology innovation and end user needs and behavior

  • To Stimulate Fresh Thinking: by assembling thought-leaders from a broad ecosystem to sharpen the understanding of how digital twins, customization and output-based business models can benefit your business and society as a whole

  • To forge New Partnerships: to help accelerate the process of Digitalisation by creating an environment where new connections between individuals and organisations, and between traditionally different industry sectors can be formed
